WHY is everything in 3D these days?

So maybe I'm old fashioned, but this trend of EVERY movie going 3D is getting annoying. Not only is it more expensive to watch the film in 3D, but it CAN'T be good for us to watch EVERYTHING through rainbow colored glasses! :)

Anywhoo... A GOOD trend in 3D would be dimensional card accents, which always lends such a nice texture and interest to any project.

This week's challenge at Craft Your Passion is to take YOUR artwork into the three dimensional stage via pop dots, decoupage, etc.

For this one I popped up the patterned fruit bowl and the strawberry stickers next to the mice... And I tried positioning the mouse with the raspberries to look like he was a little behind the mouse with the blueberries... What do you think? Did it work?

I'll be submitting this one to 613 Avenue Create (Anything Goes), 365 Cards (For A Cause) - I'll be sending this one to the Sunshine Mail Foundation, and Lacy Sunshine (Anything Goes). Thanks for stopping by and have a Berry Great day! :)

It's 5'oclock... somewhere!!

Hello there! :) This week's DTBST challenge is "cocktail time," and we were asked to use our favorite beverage (alcoholic or non). I had some debate, but I had to go with a lil Red Wine (I'm a Cabernet girl, myself). Paired up with Sassy Dorothy holding a tray of the "special" juice as my daughter calls it! :)

I'll be submitting this to the Anything Goes challenge at Crafts and Me, the Ruby Red challenge at Pollycraft Challenge, and the Summer Food and Drink challenge at Simon Says. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!! :)

Hopping for a Cause!!

Hello and welcome to the Sunshine Mail Foundation's Summer Blog hop!

This week we are hopping along with the Sunshine Mail foundation for a GREAT cause!!! The Sunshine Mail foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, provides children in need comfort, support and joy through free Sunshine Mail Care Packages.  Sunshine Mail is filled with handmade cards, a new stuffed animal and age appropriate items and delivered to children in need including hospitals, homeless shelters and foster care.

We at Sunshine Mail are excited to be doing a Blog Hop with so many great sponsors. Our DT has put together some wonderful cards to inspire you. Please Join us each day to see our fun creations. We also have great prizes to give away. We hope that you will enjoy your time here and get some great ideas for cards. We also hope that you will be inspired to send in cards of your own, to Sunshine Mail. There are many kids that would love to receive your cards. We love to put smiles on children's faces. It's a wonderful feeling to know that something you've created has touched someone in need. You don't need to send in cards to be eligible to win the prizes but we would love it if you do :)

The sponsor for my card is Digi Stamps 4 Joy and they are offering up FIVE (5)!! digis to selected winners from this week's blog hop!

My card was made featuring Digi Stamps 4 Joy's Chubby Boy with cap and colored in using copics.

I am sooooo glad I was finally able to make a "boy" card for the Sunshine Mail Foundation! So many of my recent cards were for girls only and we are often asked to make projects for boys and girls alike... That being said, please do take some time to visit the Sunshine Mail foundation's site to find out more about the cause and consider sending in some of your handmade creations to brighten a young boy or girl's day... I don't know about you, but I love the feeling of knowing that I'm using a piece of my craft to give back to a real need. So I get to have fun making cool cards for kids, while actually touching someone's life and trying to brighten his or her day...

Anyhoo, if you want to hop along, head over to the Sunshine Mail Foundation's site and start there... we have TONS of prizes up for grabs and you definitely do not want to miss this one! Have fun hopping! :)

Here is the Schedule for today. (Sponsored by Stitchy Bear & Digi Stamps 4 Joy)

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood....

Hello there blogland! Me again, with the ole' Mr. Rogers song in my head... My three year old son's newest favorite "ap" for the iPad is the Daniel the Tiger game/show... And wouldn't ya know it, Daniel the Tiger sings Mr. Rogers' songs! :) He does "it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood" and "It's such a good...feeling"... And hearing Daniel the Tiger sing those classics, well, I won't lie, it made me choke up a little for missing Mr. Rogers! Dumb, I know, but still, there it is. He was such a part of my childhood, and although I never personally met him, television is DEFINITELY not the same for kids today and I think my son would have enjoyed the program as much as I did! :) I may have to see if there are old episodes available online! :)

Thanks for letting me share! :) LOL... I did have a card to share too! :) This month's challenge at Card Makin' Mamas is monochrome, which was super hard for me, because I am always trying to find color combinations, not just single colors! :)

I had the pleasure of playing with a Meljen image (Cup of Sunshine) and I chose to stick with my favorite color, turquoise (in the BG family of copics!).

Isn't it funny how when you look at your pictures of your cards you can see where you may have butchered the whole operation, but when you're making them you don't realize the mistakes are there? I'm a little embarrassed by those edges around the peek a boo window now, but it's too late cause the CMM post has gone live already! :) If I had caught that earlier, I would've scrapped the whole card and started again! Geez... My eyes are getting old!! :)

Anywhoo, I colored the image in JUST using my BGs (BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18) and then I inked around the image with my absolute favorite distressed ink, Evergreen Bough. I find it funny how I didn't WANT to get the Tim Holtz holiday ink set when it first came out because I didn't think I needed any other colors, and now it's probably the second most frequently used ink in my collection after Vintage Photo! :)

See those butchered edges again? :) Geez... Not only am I chatty today, I'm SOOO not loving this card anymore! :( Ah well, we can't always create masterpieces... At least I can't always create a masterpiece! :) The blogs I follow always seem to have these gorgeous works of art that are whipped up in the matter of minutes, while I spend HOURS slaving away at a single card... Only to butcher it without realization until it's live for the whole blogosphere to see! :)

SOOOOO, there you have it, lol. I'm publicly admitting my failings, moaning and groaning over a card I once  thought was pretty darned cool. :) NOT my usual cheery post, but I will be back tomorrow with a TRUE sunshine card, because our Sunshine Mail Foundation blog hop starts manana! :) Then I will be able to be happy with my project cause I'm going to double check my photos NOW so I can verify they are acceptable! ! :)

Even though I no longer love this one, I will be submitting this to Allsorts' Favorite Things challenge (cause of the colors and inks!!), Just Some Lines' Anything Goes, and Crafty Calendar's color challenge. Thanks for stopping by and letting me rant! :)

Hugs, Adina

soooo, Every Heart Beats True for the Red White and Blue...

Happy Independence Day to our American Sassy Fans! I hope you are having a wonderful 4th of July full of family, fun, and celebration! :) This week I am joining the Sassy Studio Designs DTBST team with my first creation for the team! I used Belle Pinup for this challenge and added "stars" to her red dress using a white gel pen. She's a patriotic hottie! AND I dug through my stash and found some super old, but super perfect Graphic 45 papers to go with the patriotic feel...

I colored Belle in with copics, then dug out my Chipped Sapphire Distress Stains to ink up a white feather and turn it blue. Coupled with a red and white feather, the look was completed by inking with Fired Brick, Faded Jeans, and Broken China around Belle.

I will be submitting this hottie to the Kaboodle Doodles' Flag colors challenge, Coffee and Chocolate's 4th of July,  and Get Inky's Red white and blue challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful holiday!

You're a grand old flag, you're a high flying flag...

Hello there Sassylicious peeps and welcome to the first of four GORGEOUS images being released this month by Sassy Studio Designs!

This month we are releasing some hawt images in a slightly different way... Today's image, Patriotic Pinup, will be available to our Sassy fans, absolutely FREE from this Thursday and Friday, after which, she will be available for purchase at the Sassy Store. And isn't she a hottie??

Here she is all blinged out and patriotic in her red, white, and blue duds... Colored with copics and stickled lilke crazy! :) I cut the stars out with my cricut and stamped the "Super" sentiment using my CTMH matching stamp set that corresponds with the Cricut Artiste cartridge... love those... :) The card was designed using the Mojo Monday sketch as inspiration...

Soooo, head on over to the Sassy Blog and join in on the fun over there, and don't forget to snag your own copy of this hottie before it's too late!

I'll be submitting this one to Bitten by the Bug 2 (Red, White, and Blue used Cricut), Hiding in my Craft Room (Anything Goes), Digi Darla's (Stars and Stripes), and Eureka Stamps (Stars and Stripes). Thanks for stopping by and have a Sassylicious day!! :)

A lil something sweet

Hello there blogland and welcome to another fortnight's challenge over at the Sunshine Mail Foundation! This week's challenge is sponsored by Milk and Coffee, and I had the chance to play with Charlotte and her Strawberries pudding! :) This week's challenge is "Birds" so not only was her little blue birdie friend a perfect companion, but I HAD to add some of the birdie washi tape I've been hoarding! :)

Remember that the point of the Sunshine Mail Foundation is to provide sick or needy children with some happy mail, so crack out your birdie supplies, and get ready to craft it forward! :) Happy crafting! :)
