Summer's Ending! :)

I can't believe it's almost September! Labor day is always special to me for so many reasons... School is back, so I get to go back to work, and, more importantly, my hubby and I have our wedding anniversary on the second of September! This year it falls on Monday of Labor day, which is actually when we got married, so that's kind of cool too. :)

ANYWHOO... today's card has nothing to do with anniversaries but everything to do with Labor Day AND back to school...

I used Professor S (Sassy) and some SUPER old papers that were in my stash, along with some prima flowers, copics and distress inks, and viola... Back to school ready! :) So if YOU would like to play along and share your "professions" card/project with us, head on over to Sassy Studio Designs and link up! And most of all, happy crafting! :)

Wow! Another DTBST challenge! :)

Hello blogland! Welcome to this week's DTBST challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs! This week we are challenging our fans to think beyond the traditional card... and create an ATC! :) (Artist Trading Card).

I used Carrie (cause I think she's my favorite, seriously...) and paired her with some blinged out pink zebra paper,a feather, a simple bow, and viola...

I will be submitting this one to A Random Thursday (ART) anything goes, Copic Marker Europe (Favorite colors), and Link up for Pink.

Thanks for swinging by and have a great day! :)

Flower power! :)

Wow, August is truly almost over... it's so hard to believe. I went back to work last week for Freshman orientation and there's even a hint of autumn to the weather these days. It's CA-RAAAA-ZZZZYY!!! :)

This week's challenge at Craft Your Passion is to go flower ballistic. :) I mean, flower power... :) And as I'm looking forward to fall, it's kind of like I'm getting ready to say goodbye to the flowers and hello to the leaves... How quickly time flies...

We were sponsored by Digital Paper Craft and I had the pleasure of playing with Gracy... Isn't she adorable? So crack out your favorite flowers and head on over to Craft Your Passion to play along!

I will also be submitting this cutie to Come and Get it (Things with wings), Great Impressions (Square Card), and Hobby Cuts (Create a Background). Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

It's the most wonderful time... of the year...

Do you remember that old commercial? I think it was like JC Penny advertising back to school sales or something... And the parents were rejoicing that it was time for school to start again? Well, that's where I'm at... :) I can't say I'm TOTALLY looking forward to this school year, but I can't say I'm unhappy to be starting up again either. I will miss sleeping in, but I do miss the routine of it all...

SOOOO, this week's challenge at DTBST is "Summer Reading" which is SOOOOO appropo for me! :) As an English teacher, I start the year by reviewing what I HOPE my students read over the summer. And my favorite all time book is Pride and Prejudice (which I'm sure I've blogged about before!) :) SOOO, I chose to make a bookmark using Elizabeth Bennet and the opening quote from the novel...

And now, I am officially in the mood for the Back to School season... :) Thanks so much for swinging by and enjoy the tail end of YOUR summer! :)

Like, it's a BLOG hop, totally!

So I'm TOTALLY an 80s kid... I was born in the very late (ahem) seventies, so I grew up in the height of 80s fashion and... well, craziness! :) SOOOO, it's totally cool to me that this month's Sassy Studio Designs release is TOTALLY 80s! :)

I had the pleasure of working with Jazzercise  Sassy (does anyone else see Jane Fonda written all over her??)

But of course, MY two types of crunches are a bit different...

SOOOO, head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog to start your hop there (and don't forget to head over to Corrosive, who will host several trivia questions with the chance to win the awesome 80s collection as well!!).

Hello there Sassy Peeps and welcome to this week's DTBST challenge! This week's challenge is "Vacation/Travels", which means you can get all exotic with it! :) I decided to FINALLY decoupage the Issey Miyakie perfume box that came with my perfume set and has been sitting in my closet waiting to be altered! :)

I transformed it into a photo box, designed to hold my pictures of my travels (and other adventures!). :)

I used France Honey along with a little doily, some silver trim, Prima packaging. and the wooden Kaiser Kraft Eiffel Tower. Accompanied by some silver paint and REALLY old Creative Memories stickers from my stash, and viola, a photo box! :)

Thanks for swinging by today and I hope YOUR travels and getaways are adventurous as well! :) The summer is officially winding down (is it bad that I'm happy about the kids going back to school?) but this week we should be making some more travel memories as my daughter is going to competition in Atlantic City! :) Have a great week!
