There I go again

Geez, the holidays have DEFINITELY been a hectic time this year! :) I am sooooo sorry but I forgot to post my card for this week's Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge, and I have GOT to share my take on Sassy Flash Dance with you! :)

There IS a back story to the card... My darling friends have been encouraging me to go back to the gym, and for the past month and a half we have had a "crew" of six women working out at five AM together for a time of encouragement, sweat, and (gasp!) fun... It was rough going at first, I won't lie. But now it has truly become not only a routine, but an important part of my day! So this card is for my darling friend Jen who has lost over seventy five pounds since she started her weight loss journey a year ago. The inside reads "New You" and she is DEFINITELY a new model of herself... So if she's reading my blog right now I have ruined the surprise, but this card was definitely made as a tribute to her hard work and dedication! :)

SOOOO head on over to the Sassy Studios blog to play along with this week's challenge "Ring in the New Year" and happy scrapping!

Hugs,

If you believe...

Hey blogland, WHERE is the time going? I don't know about you, but I have been crazy hectic busy these past few days and today was my first "do nothing" day in a LONG time... And then at 3:55 PM I was reminded that I was SUPPOSED to be at a Christmas party at 3:00!! But since we are all fighting colds, I had to avoid sharing our germs and stay home some more... :) I'm sad I missed the party, but it has been SUCH a week (or two!!).

ANYWHOOOOO... It's been so crazy that I forgot to post my card for this week's Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge at Sassy Studio Designs (shame on me!). This week's challenge is glitter and shine, and I cracked out my stickles and bling to glisten Tink up! :)

Tinkerbell was colored with copics (of course!). I used E000, E00, E11, and E04 for her skin, E50, YR21 and Y17 for her hair, and YG07, YG41 for her dress. Oh, and her wings are colored with BG000 and then stickled. And I TOTALLY used my stash this time around... The patterned paper is from Creative Memories circa forever ago, and the "Believe" sentiment is also a Creative Memories piece that has been looming in my stash since I first took scissor to paper...

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!! :)

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas!!

Hey there bloggers! Me again with a quick Sassy post for ya! This week's Dare To Be Sassy challenge is "Christmas" and I have a Sassy Santa to show off today! :)

I made the treat box using Cricut's Close to My Heart Artiste cartridge and colored in Sassy Santa with copics for a quick and easy treat box. I put a piece of plastic transparency on the opening of the box and I will try to fill it with goodies for Melanie's teacher before the holidays are over! :) As much as Christmas is rushing toward us, I'm beginning to get the panic that comes in a week before shopping should be done and I realize I am only halfway done... I can't think about it because I will get anxiety, lol! :)

Wishing you a Holly Jolly day!
Hugs,
Adina

PS, I will be submitting this one to the following challenges:
Crafty Girls (Anything Goes)
Creative Knockouts (Tis the Season)
Dream it up (Holidays in a hurry)

Tis the season...

HEY there blogland! I do hope the holiday season has not left you melancholy or sad... Instead, I wish only happy things for you and yours! :)

This month's challenge at Card Makin' Mamas is focused on Christmas, and we had the chance to use some awesome images from Bugaboo Stamps... I played with JJ Christmas Cheers for some laughs...

I loved the cheekiness of this lil gal, and I HAD to glossy accent up the martini class for added dimension! :)

I will be submitting this lovely lady to the Anything Goes challenge at Anonymous Stamps and The Cheerful Stamp Pad's Signs of Christmas Challenge. Thanks so  very much for swinging by and have a wonderful, blessed holiday season! :)

Hello there bloggers and thanks for stopping by today! :) This week's DTBST challenge at Sassy Studios is called "Cut and Paste" and we are asking participants to paper piece something on their projects!

I played with Jessica Rabbit, who I have been ogling since October and had SOOOO much fun making her a holiday hottie! :)

I will also be submitting this gal to the Anything Goes challenge at Crafty Girls and Copic Markers Europe (Anything Christmas). Thanks again for dropping by and happy crafting! :)

Onto the Christmas Cards!!

Hello there again bloggers and happy Monday (really?) I soooo enjoyed my relaxing weekend and I am dreading going back to work today... BUT I'll keep holding onto the fact that we have a longer Christmas break this year! :) I never knew that teachers looked as forward to Christmas break as the kids did until I myself became a teacher! :)

Anywhoo... this week's challenge at Craft Your Passion is to incorporate WASHI Tape!! I know I've said this before, but of course I HAVE Washi in my collection... I mean, a real horder has EVERYTHING she does and doesn't need! :) BUT I rarely use it (although I HAVE been meaning to wrap some around my iPhone charger so I don't lose it... EVERYONE has the same charger these days lol! :)

SOOOO, I whipped out some candy colored washi and paired it up with these cuties from 2 Cute Ink:

And now I'm ready to go make Christmas cookies!! :) (Hey, who needs to go to work anyway???) :) Thanks for stopping by and have a WONDERFUL holiday season!!

Rockin' Owl

Hey there bloggers and happy almost Thanksgiving! :) I cannot believe we are a week away from Thanksgiving... I can't lie and act like I'm NOT thankful that we are close to the holidays... this year has been a LONG one... On so many levels... but then again, poof, here we are preparing for the holidays before the close of the year! :) CA-RA-ZY!!

This week's challenge at Craft Your Passion (Buttons Galore) is being sponsored by QKR, and I had the chance to play with this rockin' owl...

With the end of the year coming so close, I realized that THIS is my first card of a requisite fifty for this year's graduating class... I love making my seniors a personalized farewell but by now I'm usually rolling with cards already. They aren't due until the end of March but still, I'm kind of behind so I guess Christmas cards are off the table because I have got to get rolling on congrats notes!! :)

I will be submitting this card to Cards Galore's "Animals" challenge. Have a great day! :)

Sunday, November 3, 2013

It's beginning to look a lot like... CHRISTMAS!!! :)

And I can't say I'm not excited!! :) I am SOOOOO not a Halloween person... I seriously have issues, I know. BUT I am totally a Christmassy person cause it's cold outside and warm inside and we celebrate Christ's birth ALL season long AND we give presents... I mean, come on, what's NOT to love!! :)

SOOOOO, I have to really get on the ball with my Christmas cards too. :) I am not pressuring myself this year cause frankly, I don't think anyone else out there really cares if they get a handmade card from me or not! :) BUT I do want to make a few special ones for close friends and family...

This week, Sassy Studio Designs is hosting the "Mrs. Claus" challenge at Time 4 Scrap, so I was able to jump start some of that Christmas card making with this lil lady:

I inked Snowman Sassy up in honor of Mrs. Claus using my copics (of course) and added a little gel pen glitter to her scarf (cause the red on red didn't QUITE work)... Then I whipped out some OOOOLLLLLDDDD Christmas papers (October Afternoon, I THINK)... And one, two, three, whipped up a lil card to throw into the ring. :) Santa only wishes Mrs. Claus could look so good... And so does my hubby lol! :)

Anywhoo, I'll be submitting this lil lady to the following challenges: Aud Sentiments (Christmas sentiment), A Gem of a Challenge (Christmas is Coming), Allsorts (Christmas Cheer), and Crafty Calendar (All things Christmas). Thanks for swinging by and have a WARM day! :)

November Sketch!

Hey bloggers and happy November to ya! ;) This month, Scrap-A-Doodle Doo is hosting a beautiful sketch challenge and I am SOOOO grateful for these challenges because it seems that the only time I am able to actually scrapbook these days is when I have a project for my favorite LSS!!

This sketch was found on Pinterest

And THIS is my interpretation of it...

Love those kids... :)

I'll be submitting this one to Craftitude (Twine) and Crafty Hands (Anything Goes). Thanks for swinging by!!

Soooo thankful!

IT'S FRIDAY!!!! :) Thank GOD!! And I can't believe it, but it's NOVEMBER already!! How time flies... hee hee, apropos for my card today actually... :)

The challenge at Card Makin' Mamas this month is "Thankful" and I am thankful that I was able to FINALLY play with my SOG images again... I truly love the lil Mae as Alice... Her bunny is so cute!! :)

I used the sketch from Everybody Art Challenge and I played with lots of kraft paper based on this week's Just Inspirational Challenge. Soooo, THANK YOU for swinging by today and have a wonderful weekend!!

Fire beats Roses... Always

Hey there bloggers! This week Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the "Books" challenge at Creative Card Crew, and I FINALLY had a chance to crack out Katniss, Girl of Fire for this project! :)

I chose to alter a composition notebook for this challenge, and I had so so so much fun coloring Katniss' dress!! I was trying to channel the idea of "fire" and halfway through the coloring process I decided to add some yellow for the flames.... I absolutely LOVE the way this one came out, if I don't say so myself, lol! :) But of course, I ruined her lipstick because of the paper I used... It's SOOOO true that the paper choice you make when using copics TOTALLY influences your result. The paper I used was not my usual X-Press it, and I struggled most with skin and lips on this one...

Anywhoo, Thanks for swinging by and have a wonderful day... AND if you haven't read Catching Fire yet, you have about a week and a half before the movie comes out... Just sayin! :)

Divalicious Sunday

Happy Sunday Bloggers!! Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the "Add Black" challenge at Glitter and Sparkle this week, and I HAD to crack out the two newest members of the Sassy Family, Bat Girl and Cat Woman for this challenge!

I used the sketch from Sketchbook Saturday Challenge this week

And I'm entering this card into the following challenges: Savvy Handmade Cards (Bats... Does Bat Girl count??), 4 Crafty Chicks (Girls Night Out), Oozak (Anything Goes), and Pile it On (Embellishment crazy). Thanks for flying by and have a wonderful day!!

It's a Spooky Hop... Hocus Pocus! :)

Hello Sassy Blogland and welcome to the October Sassy Release Hop!

This month we are challenging the Sassy players to craft using a Spooktacular Bingo board for a truly creepy combination (am I going too far with the creepieness? In my head I am writing with my Dracula voice... Please read the rest using your own Vamp...) :)

Sooooo, I was assigned "Sara Sanderson" as my image for this release, but when I saw all the Sanderson sisters, well.... they just can't be separated! :) My students have a Hocus Pocus obsession actually, and there are three in particular who do the Sanderson "walk" through the halls... AND when I took them to Salem last year, they even walked through the streets of Salem saying "SISTERS" and walking like the Sandersons... it was classic. :)

So in honor of Deanna, Khadiyah, and Kyanna, here is my creation:

I used the last row of the bingo board (purple, bling, bones, and ribbon) and colored in all three sisters using copics... of course. :) And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the purple metallic paper that I snagged at my favorite LSS, Scrap-A-Doodle Doo! I embossed it with the store's cobweb folder, added some cobwebby lace and viola... :)

SOOO, all YOU have to do for your own chance to win these fabby  images (and others!! You have GOT to check out the rest of the release!!) is hop along with the Sassy Crew... And while you're at it, take a minute to welcome our newest Design Team members! :)

If you didn't arrive here from welcoming Gemma, then you may have to start all over at Sassy Studios... OTHERWISE, your next stop is our Sassylicious bro, Greg, who has an UBER awesome sample for ya... And if you get lost along the way, here's the sassy hop order:

Girls, they wanna have fu - un...

Hello there bloggers, me again! :) Sheesh, three posts in three days, that's like a new record! :) I have EVEN been able to make a card here and there during the week, which is unheard of these days! :) School is totally still very hectic, but maybe I am getting into a groove? Or just skipping out on work to craft... :) Eh, potatoes, tomatoes... :)

SOOOO, Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun challenge at Creative Fingers this week, and I had SOOOO much fun making Flash Dance Sassy into a Cindi Lauper follower... :)

In retrospect, she probably needed MUCH heavier makeup but I think the tulle was TOTALLY from the 80s and on point... Makes me reminisce... :) I did love my neon colors then, but I almost always tempered my outfits with white... That was just me though. My daughter NOW loves neons so much that she painted her room neon green and hot pink... Colors I would never have done myself lol! :)

I'll be submitting this one to My Heart Pieces Anything Goes challenge as well as Fab N Funky's Spots n Stripes challenge. Thanks for swinging by and have a wonderful day!! :)

It's a Sassy Birthday...

Hello there blogland and TGIF!!!! :) I'm actually posting this one in advance cause today I'll be taking my lil baby in for surgery (simple frenectomy, but still)... But that doesn't mean the craftiness ends... :) Maybe the REST of my day off will be spent crafting instead of nursing a crankizoid... One can hope! :)

Sassy Studios is sponsoring the challenges at Charisma Cardz (Food) and 4 Krafty Girls (Anything Goes) this week... So I was FINALLY able to make a birthday card featuring Birthday Cake Sassy! I have been hoarding her since she was released and just WAITING for the right moment (and some time!!) to get her inked up!! :)

(Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04; Dress: B91, B93, B95, B97; Shoes/Plate: E50, E23; Cake: R22, R20, R39; Hair: E50, E53, E23, E31)

Her cake looks like it is straight from Carlo's Bakery, and she just makes me smile... :) I used the sketch from this week's Sketchbook Saturday Challenge to get the creative juices flowing, and I colored the lil gal in with copics (of course...).

So there you have it... Please do keep lil Elijah in your prayers as he heals, and thanks for stopping by today! :)

There's Snowman Like YOU!!

Happy Wednesday Blogland!! Adina here, with a seriously QUICK card featuring my FAVORITE embellishment (other than glitter...) :) LACE!!

This week Sassy Studios is sponsoring the Lace challenge at Creative Moments and I had the chance to play with Snowman Pinup! :)

This lil lady was colored using Copics (skin: E000, E00, E11, E04; Dress: BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG13; Scarf and boots: BG18, BG15; Hat: C0, C3; Hair: E50, E53, E31).

Once I added the first layer of surrounding lace and taped down the doily and feathers, I figured the card was still missing SOMETHING, so I glitzed up another piece of lace using the Mint Chalkboard Glimmermist and created a Minty Green bow to go along with the layout... I have to say it's been a while since I spritzed glimmer mist on ribbon and I really DO love the versatility they give me... Just sayin. :)

SOOOOO, I'll be submitting this lil lady to Creative Craft Challenges' Anything Goes, Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges (Inspired by a Christmas carol... this card screams "Frosty the SASSY Snowman...) :), and Hiding in My Craft Room's Super Scraps Saturday (that was my LAST scrap of that particular patterned paper and I was SOOOO glad I used it lol!!! ).

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope YOU have a crafty day! :)

Sassy America...

Hey there! I have a quick tag to share with you featuring Captain America Sassy in all her American glory... :)

This lil lady honestly just makes me smile... She's SOOO the Sassy representation of one of my all time favorite super heroes, so I HAD to ink her up and feature her on something I can use frequently! :) She's currently on my desk at work actually, cause, well, she's just that hot. :)

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring this week's challenge at Craft My Life and I will be submitting her to Artistic Inspirations' Girly challenge, The Cheerful Stamp Pad's Tags challenge, and Anything Goes at 613 Avenue Create.

Thanks for swinging by and have a Craftylicious day! :)

You're My Kind of Cool!

Hey there and happy Monday! :) Welcome to another Monday, another week, and another challenge at Craft Your Passion! :) This week's challenge is to incorporate HEAVY METAL (Ok, light metal is ok too!) into your projects...And we are sponsored this week by none other than Kenny K!! :)

I was a lil light with my own metallic embellishments, limiting my pieces to the paper clip, gold collar, and staples, but I LOVED using the packaging to Pretty Little Studio's Nature Walk to get the effect of lots of different patterns!

Thanks for stopping by and I do hope you head over to the Craft Your Passion website to play along!

Charmed, I'm sure!

Hello there blogland!! Woot, two posts within two days of each other... is that mojo I hear calling me? How I have missed you... :)

Today's challenge at Craft Your Passion is to incorporate a charm into your project... And I have been HOARDING these gorgeous Bo Bunny charms since like FOREVER to use on a Ballerina project... SOOOO, viola, I actually made a scrapbook page (gasp)!!

I really feel like I NEVER get to scrap these days, so I as truly blessed to slap some paper and glue together for this one! :) And seriously, it's as simple a page as I have ever made, which kind of reminded me that it doesn't ALWAYS have to be a multi-hour project to maintain memories... I have GOT to get back to the basics and get some pages DONE! :) These were from Melanie's recital in 2012... So I'm only a year off, but I do have pictures from her recital in 2009 that are not in a book yet, so that goes to show... :)

Anywhoo, I'll be submitting this one to Scrap it with a Song (I CANNOT get the Lionel Richie song "Ballerina Girl" out of my head now!) :)

Thanks for swinging by and have a WONDERFUL day!! :)

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL!!!

Hey blogland, and welcome to football season. Ok, well maybe not welcome this far into it but the time has definitely arrived! :) I'm STILL working on getting the hubs tickets to a Jets game this season but our end of Jersey has already been abuzz with Super Bowl talk because it's in our backyard this year at the Meadowlands.

SOOO, I made this card for the hubs' birthday with the hopes of scoring tickets to a Jets game to include within. His b-day isn't until November, so I'm still ok with timing, I hope! :)

This one was made for this week's DTBST challenge (Fall colors) at Sassy Studio Designs and I'll be entering her into the following challenges as well: 2 Sisters (Anything Goes) and Color Me Creative (Fall colors). Thanks for swinging by and for bearing with me these past few weeks... back to school this year has been CRAZY hectic and I have had time for NO crafting...

Hugs!!!

Boogie Mambo

Hey there blog land!! I FINALLY had a few hours to get my scrap on between traveling for dance competition and getting ready for back to school...

This layout features my baby girl's tap group number, "Boogie Mambo" and it just makes me cry to see how far she has come these ten years... she loves tap and she truly excels at it, which was just proved by them taking first place overall in Regionals for this number and second place overall at Nationals... It was so good for her self confidence too! :)

This double layout was created for this month's Sketch challenge at Scrap A Doodle Doo featuring the sketch below...

I am also submitting this one to 4 Krafty Girlz (Anything Goes), Addicted to CAS (Music). Thanks so much for swinging by and have a fantabulous day!

All about the Kiddos...

Hello blogland and happy Friday to you!!! Even though I only had students for two days (technically) this week, it STILL is TGIF!! :)

This month's Card Makin' Mamas challenge is for the kids, and we are being sponsored by the fabulous Bugaboo!

I had lots of fun with this super bright creation and even found a way to crack out my washi tape stash... I have to say, I like the stuff cause, well, it's pretty, but it is not my go to craft item yet, and I'm hoping to incorporate it more whenever possible...

Anywhoo... Thanks for swinging by and I do hope you have a craftilicious day! :)

Thursday, September 5, 2013

Are you ready for school?? :)

It's that time again... another new school year! :) Melanie started the fifth grade (gasp) yesterday and I CANNOT wrap my head around the fact that my baby is rowing up so fast! :)

I made this post it note holder with her teacher in mind, but then she told me NOT to give it to her because she doesn't want to look like she's sucking up so early in the year... It blew my mind that my baby who once LOVED giving teacher gifts that were made by mommy now has something to say against it. AND she made sense (even if I disagreed with her!!)

I may just hold onto it until she IS ready to give it to her teacher or I can just use it on my own desk at school lol! Thanks for stopping by and head on over to Sassy Studios to play along with this week's "Back to School" challenge! :)

Thursday, August 29, 2013

Summer's Ending! :)

I can't believe it's almost September! Labor day is always special to me for so many reasons... School is back, so I get to go back to work, and, more importantly, my hubby and I have our wedding anniversary on the second of September! This year it falls on Monday of Labor day, which is actually when we got married, so that's kind of cool too. :)

ANYWHOO... today's card has nothing to do with anniversaries but everything to do with Labor Day AND back to school...

I used Professor S (Sassy) and some SUPER old papers that were in my stash, along with some prima flowers, copics and distress inks, and viola... Back to school ready! :) So if YOU would like to play along and share your "professions" card/project with us, head on over to Sassy Studio Designs and link up! And most of all, happy crafting! :)

Friday, August 23, 2013

Wow! Another DTBST challenge! :)

Hello blogland! Welcome to this week's DTBST challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs! This week we are challenging our fans to think beyond the traditional card... and create an ATC! :) (Artist Trading Card).

I used Carrie (cause I think she's my favorite, seriously...) and paired her with some blinged out pink zebra paper,a feather, a simple bow, and viola...

I will be submitting this one to A Random Thursday (ART) anything goes, Copic Marker Europe (Favorite colors), and Link up for Pink.

Thanks for swinging by and have a great day! :)

Flower power! :)

Wow, August is truly almost over... it's so hard to believe. I went back to work last week for Freshman orientation and there's even a hint of autumn to the weather these days. It's CA-RAAAA-ZZZZYY!!! :)

This week's challenge at Craft Your Passion is to go flower ballistic. :) I mean, flower power... :) And as I'm looking forward to fall, it's kind of like I'm getting ready to say goodbye to the flowers and hello to the leaves... How quickly time flies...

We were sponsored by Digital Paper Craft and I had the pleasure of playing with Gracy... Isn't she adorable? So crack out your favorite flowers and head on over to Craft Your Passion to play along!

I will also be submitting this cutie to Come and Get it (Things with wings), Great Impressions (Square Card), and Hobby Cuts (Create a Background). Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

It's the most wonderful time... of the year...

Do you remember that old commercial? I think it was like JC Penny advertising back to school sales or something... And the parents were rejoicing that it was time for school to start again? Well, that's where I'm at... :) I can't say I'm TOTALLY looking forward to this school year, but I can't say I'm unhappy to be starting up again either. I will miss sleeping in, but I do miss the routine of it all...

SOOOO, this week's challenge at DTBST is "Summer Reading" which is SOOOOO appropo for me! :) As an English teacher, I start the year by reviewing what I HOPE my students read over the summer. And my favorite all time book is Pride and Prejudice (which I'm sure I've blogged about before!) :) SOOO, I chose to make a bookmark using Elizabeth Bennet and the opening quote from the novel...

And now, I am officially in the mood for the Back to School season... :) Thanks so much for swinging by and enjoy the tail end of YOUR summer! :)

Getting Krafty AND Sassy!

Hello there blogland! I cannot believe how quickly this summer is coming to a close! I have a (late) card to share with you today, featuring Lounging Around Sassy. This week's DTBST challenge is to incorporate Kraft into your projects, which to me screamed "beach!" :)

I will be submitting this one to: A Gem of a Challenge (summer), Drunken Stampers (Beach), and Sweet Stampin (Goin Krafty). Thanks so very much for stopping by and have a WONDERFUL day! :)
