Easter is coming!!

Yesterday was Palm Sunday, and I had to take a moment to reflect on just what that means to me, as a Christian... The fact that Jesus came, knowing what the end result would be, and then entered into Jerusalem knowing that within a week's time he would be suffering the most devastating and painful death, but yet he came still... It blows my mind.

I'm not one to usually make Easter cards, because the beauty of the resurrection is that Jesus is NOT dead... but the true meaning of Easter tends to get overshadowed by the White bunny and chocolate candies and such... And that's just NOT what Easter is about, at least for me.

BUT since I started out this post being philosophical, I ALSO have to stress that I know Jesus had a sense of humor, and he totally loved laughing. SOOOOOO, I do have a card for you this week, and it is an Easter themed one, and it's hilarious, or so I think, lol! :)

This card was made using "Egg Hunt" from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet for the "Bunnies, Chicks, and Eggs" challenge this week at Craft Your Passion.

So even though I will probably not be giving this card as an Easter card, per se, I totally had to get a giggle out of the image and out of the whole concept... I mean, she's adorably cute, isn't she? :)

As a closing thought, I have to wish you all a wonderful holy week. This week, for me, is a time of genuine reflection because my savior came here to a cruel, harsh world in a time when He was not welcomed to save a people who did not want to hear what He had to say. And while he walked the Earth, he showed us that we CAN enjoy God's creation and we CAN laugh and have fun and enjoy one another. Most of all, He showed us that we CAN live a life free of sin because of HIS sacrifice for us. Not a single one of us can be as perfect as He is. But we CAN strive to reflect His example, and we can enjoy our time on this Earth just like He did, with the knowledge that He came JUST so that we could know Him and abide in Him forever...

Thanks for swinging by today, and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Hugs,
Adina

PS, I'll be submitting this HILARIOUS card to the following challenges:
One Stitch at a Time (Use a Digi)
HobbyCutz (Bingo; Ribbon, Stamp, Flowers on the paper)
A Gem of a Challenge (Spring is in the Air)

Recycled Thank Yous...

Hello there and happy Thursday!! I can't lie and say this week is NOT dragging... I'm so looking forward to the weekend. :) BUT in the meantime, I'm busy planning for my sister's wedding and shower and all the good stuff involved in that planning... I can't give too many details because my luck would be that she would see this post before the big events, but I DO want to share a quick project I whipped up in preparation for the surprise party!!

My theme is a little obvious if you look at this, but again, I'm not going to give too many details away right now... more to come later! :) I recycled an old Dance Shoe box of my daughter's to hold thank you cards that I made for my sis, as her gift at the shower....

(You can still see the red on the inside of the box, but I am WAY too tired to paint the inner portion too! :)

And this is the MUCH better looking closed version, all tied up and ready to go! :)

This week Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the "Green/Earth Day/Recycle" challenge at C.R.A.F.T, so this box was PERFECTLY timed to save the Earth a little paper waste, and to play along! :) AND this Sassy Cassy Cameo could be YOURS as a giftie from my Sassy Sis Sara, so if you're interested, head on over to her blog to check out her giveaway! :)

Thanks for swinging by today, and have a Sassy, Crafty day!!

Sassy Pageant Queen!

Hello there blogland! Is it Spring YET? My husband is watching the weather channel RIGHT now saying "Really? Get warmer already!" :) I think we are ALL so over the cold days...

I'm finally getting ready to make my seniors their "Palancas" or cards wishing them well on graduation... it's a tradition I know I have posted about in the past, but basically I make each student an individualized card with a personalized note wishing her well as she begins college and everything thereafter. This year has been hard for me, because I honestly have only made a handful of cards, and I'm not sure if it's because I'm lacking mojo or inspiration...

BUT this Sassy Pageant Queen is just so fabulous, and I definitely have some students who will appreciate her, so I colored her up with copics then glitzed her up with stickles, and viola:

Sassy Studio Designs is currently sponsoring the anything goes challenge at Crafting By Designs, so this one will be submitted there as well as the following challenges:

Add a little Dazzle (Anything Goes)
Crafting by Designs (Anything Goes)
Stampavie (Girly)

Thanks so much for swinging by and have a crafty week!

Sassy Showgirl hits the stage!

Hello there Sassy fans and happy Tuesday!! The past two weeks have been so full of dance competitions for me and my mini me, and it has been SOOOO hectic crazy that I totally forgot to post my Sassy Showgirl for this month's Facebook Challenge!

This month YOU can get your own Free Sassy Showgirl just for agreeing to play along with our Facebook progressive challenge! Head over to Facebook for the details, and then whip out YOUR favorite color combination to play along.

I used Tiffany Blue, Black, and White, which is absolutely my favorite color combo right now. And I will post MORE pics using this combo as soon as I can show off my Sister's Bridal Shower stuff, but for now, it's still all hush hush! :)

This Sassy Diva was colored in using Copics (Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04; Hair: E50, E53, E23, E25; Leotard and Feathers: BG10, BG13; Bow: C03, C05, C07, C09). This is actually a tent card design I played with for the secret surprise but I didn't end up using this particular design... I really can't WAIT to share all the goodies I'm playing with, but it's too soon... Anywhoo... My Sassy Showgirl was SOOOO much fun to play with so head on over to play along with this month's challenge so you can get your very own Diva to color up in your favorite hues! :)

Whaaaaaaaa??? What happened to my blog post???

SOOOOOOO, thanks for swinging by today and I have GOT to apologize to my Sassy bloggers who stopped by yesterday for our new release hop!! We are celebrating the launch of Greg's new SENTIMINTS!!

Blogger seems to have decided to quit on me, and THREE of my scheduled posts have completely disappeared... I will have to rewrite them and get them up ASAP. I'm sorry though, again, for the bump in the hop!

Without further ado, I got to play with the Space Birthday sentiment from Greg's newest launch and paired it up with Birthday Cake Sassy for this Sassy lil combo...

If you haven't yet checked out Greg's sentiments, he is super creative and has an awesome new collection of sassy sayings that go perfectly with so may of Lindsay's images... you will not be disappointed! :)

So if you stumbled across my blog by accident and want to check out the rest of the release!), head over to the Sassy blog to start the hop,! Otherwise, if you arrived here from Chris' blog, head on over to visit Lindsay, our Sassy creator! :)

Charmed, I'm sure... :)

You have GOT to check them out, and NOT because I'm on the Design Team! :)

I played with the adorable Lili Roller Skating and I inked her up with copics. THEN I got to embellish a card up using the AWESOME Roller Skate Charm and Cupcake charm! Isn't she a CUTIE???

I seriously enjoyed inking this lil girl up and making her all retro with Creative Memories papers I had lurking in my stash! I even added Gemstone brads to the corners of the card, which I NEVER do! :)

Graph It Markers (Color Denim)
Jo's scrap Shack (Florals)
A Creative Romance (Bingo: Charm, Ribbon, Bow)
