Happy Anniversary Hop!!

Hello there and Happy Sassyversary!! :) This weekend marks the 4th anniversary of Sassy Studio Designs, and our newest image release celebrates some of the original sassyness that started it all! :) If you did not arrive here from Alaine's blog, please do start the hop at SSD's page first! :)

In honor of anniversaries (of which I have one coming up myself in September!), the design team has created anniversary inspired cards... YOUR job is to guess which year we are honoring through our projects using traditional or modern guidelines. In order to win your very own version of this image, you will have to:

1. Hop along and visit all of the DT's blogs
2. Leave a comment at each stop
3. Guess the correct year as you visit our sites

Here's my take on the anniversary challenge using BubbleGum...

So now that you've taken a peek (and if you're stumped as to what inspired me for this card, remember that I said my personal anniversary is coming up this September... check out my bio for more info...), comment below with your guess. And if you missed the hop, be sure to check out the lineup below! :)

Celebrating GIRL power!

Hey there blogland!! This week Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the "Girl Power" challenge over at Penny's Paper Crafty, and (gasp) I decided to NOT make a card this time around... I have been holding onto this mug thing that I got as a teacher gift this year and it's been waiting for JUST the right project... Basically, you can take the outer, clear shell of the mug off and there's an inner tube that kind of tightens into the clear shell, allowing you to place a piece of paper decorated as you like...

So I combined Professor S and Wonder Regan along with a quote from the Wonder Woman movie, and, viola... Instant Sassy Coffee Mug. :)

This was genuinely a super easy project but it makes me smile every time I see it now, and I love drinking my coffee ala Sassy! :)

I'll be submitting this one to The Hobby House's first "Anything Goes" challenge. Thanks for checking her out and have a Sassylicious day!!

Get Ready to Hop Along and Celebrate with Sassy Studio Designs!!

Can't wait to see you along the blog stops!! :)

Let Beauty Surround You

Hello there and happy first Monday of summer to you! :) I have NO idea what to do with myself now that there's so much TIME on my hands lol! I am planning to be VERY crafty, but somehow my housework seems to get in the way of that! :(

Anywhoo, it's another Monday, which means that this week's Craft Your Passion challenge is up and running! This week we were sponsored by Heather Ellis and the challenge is to take a walk in the garden...

So I whipped out my Tim Holtz shabby flower dies and tried to create a little piece of floral paradise using some Graphic 45 paper that was hanging around... I colored the image in with copics (skin: E000, E00, E11, E04; Hair E50, E53, E31; Dress/shoes: B00, B06) then I sponged the background in using distress inks (Forest green, Broken china, tattered rose)... I haven't yet decided which background technique is my favorite yet... I love using the copics because they give so much control, but the distress inks give such a whimsical appeal as well... Hmmmm.... :)

I added some white gel pen for interest, a technique I tend to overlook most times, and viola, there she is. :) She's actually already on her way to the Sunshine Mail Foundation to brighten a child's day... :)

I'm submitting this to Red Carpet Studio's Digital challenge as well as Stamping Sensations' Summer Blooms challenge.

Anways, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful, sunny day! :)

It's going to be a magical summer!

Hello and happy summer to you all! :) Are YOU ready for the summer yet? I'm not... my students are all done and we are having all sorts of planning meetings for next year's class, and I just can't get over the fact that it's DONE already... this year ZOOMED by... I mean, ok, sometimes I felt like it was dragging forever because some of my students were difficult, but I think I just kept it rolling... :)

SOOO, lo and behold, it's summer time and I have made NO crafty plans yet! I don't even know what to do with my coming crafty time! I kind of want to get back to my scrapbooking but that's a lot easier said than done...

What I decided to do was color to get the creative mojo going... I had printed out Theodora forever ago and she has just been patiently awaiting the right moment to be used. So I inked her up with my copics, followed the color inspiration from Just Inspirational this week, and viola...

I will be submitting this one to Ladybug Crafts Ink (Flowers and ribbon) and the Creative Card Crew (Metal stick pins)... Thanks so much for checking her out and have a crafty day! :)

Aaah-oooowwww.....

I love teaching Pygmalion/My Fair Lady, particularly because my students almost always get a kick out of Eliza's... dialect, particularly her "aawwwooh".

This card was inspired by my second favorite Audrey Hepburn classic (of course my FAVORITE is Breakfast at Tiffany's!!) and has been created for the Fetch a Sketch challenge and Love to Create's "Vintage/Shabby Chic" challenge, both of which are being sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs this week.

I lightly colored in Eliza's dress with T3 and RV93/RV95. There is a bird cage rub on in the background, and I pierced the pieces before layering them. THis card was SOOOO much fun to make and of course, the feathers added that little touch.... :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a WONDERFUL day! :)

Happy Birthday to EWE

So I admittedly am NOT the Queen of clever sentiments. I always get a chuckle out of the cutesy phrases like "How are MOO" or those types... SOOO, when I saw that Bugaboo was the sponsor for this month's Card Makin' Mamas challenge, I jumped all over the "Happy Birthday to Ewe" set, which includes adorable Sheep celebrating together. :)

I made a joy fold card and although I feel like this card was super simple, I really liked the way it turned out... I'm also submitting this one to Aud Sentiments (Anything Goes). Thanks for looking! :)

What's Cookin' Good Lookin'?

Hey scrappy peeps! I hope you are enjoying your day! Today has been QUITE the stressful one already... My stepdad had open heart surgery last night and things were touch and go, but praise God he is awake and talking today! :) So I guess complaining about the fact that my car died last night and we had to have it towed this morning AND my washing machine has been out of commission for three weeks now so we had to buy a new one today is kind of inappropriate. I am very grateful that God has seen fit to heal Robert and I pray for his complete restoration soon. I pray for complete restoration of the car too! :)

SOOOO, on another complete note, my sister is not yet TECHNICALLY engaged but is planning on being married within the next year or so.... It's a longer story than that, but anyways... I'm making my sister a recipe box because she is always asking me for recipes on some of my favorite dishes. I just finished altering the box and now I need to work on the recipe cards, so I may have to revisit the theme of this post later on! :)

I had to go with the steampunk theme because it's so feminine but not... just like my sister. :) And of course, it had to be a LITTLE sassy! :)

I used Steampunk Josephine to add  some sassiness to the back of the box and created this project for the Craft My Life "Anything but a Card" challenge that is being sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs this week.

I am also submitting this to Papertake Weekly's Anything Goes challenge as well as Through the Craft Room Door's Anything Goes challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day! :)

Sew Special

Hello there and happy Monday crafty peeps! :) Adina here again with a new card made for this week's Craft Your Passion challenge...

This little lady is from Crafty Sentiments, and was colored using copics. Because this week's challenge is to use Haberdashery items, I also used a sentiment from Crafty Secrets, some faux stitching, pierced paper, and stamps from Close to My Heart. So go ahead, crack out your sewing machine and thread and head on over to Craft Your Passion to play along! :)

I'm also submitting this sweetie to the ABC Challenge (O is for open... and anything goes), and to ALBC's "Something Sweet" challenge. Thanks for visiting and have a crafty day! :)

Sending smiles

Hey bloggers, Adina again! :) This cutie was created for this fortnight's Sunshine Mail Foundation challenge, and if you have NOT yet played along with our challenges, I would definitely encourage you to create a "smiles" card for this challenge and then send your card into the foundation. They then distribute the cards to needy, suffering children across the nation. I love the Sunshine Mail Foundation simply because each and every time I create a "cute" card, I know it's going to brighten someone's day.

So what are you waiting for? Get crafty and then "craft" it forward... I know it will brighten someone ELSE'S day while brightening yours as well! :)
