I sure hope April showers bring May flowers, and SOON!!

Hi there! Here in Northern NJ we are having the coldest rain spell and it is absolutely demoralizing, lol! I mean, where is the Spring!!!??? I even went ahead and altered a beer bottle into a vase so that I could usher in the Spring at home, but my tulips are drowning out there!! :)

I guess the fact that Nickie is holding an umbrella is more appropriate than I thought!! :) I made this project for our "Anything Goes" challenge at Inky Impressions this week, and I do hope you use YOUR inside time to come get crafty with us!! :)

I will be submitting this ;project to the following challenges:

Crafty Creations (Anything but a card)
Divas By Design (April Showers)
HobbyBrook (Add a Sentiment)
Card Makin Mamas (Earth Friendly)

I will be submitting this one to the following challenges:

For the First Time in Forever... Come Hop Along!!

Hey there Sassy fans and welcome to the April Spring Release Hop!! If you have stumbled across my blog cause you were just drawn here, because "Winter's a Good time to stay in and cuddle," then head back to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog to start at the beginning of our hop... But If you've arrived here from Melissa's blog, then you are in the right place!!

This month we are celebrating (have you guessed it yet?) a FROZEN themed release, and I am sooooo excited about this one... It's absolutely my kids' favorite movie, hands down, and even though I've seen it like five hundred times now, it's still high on my list because it features the amazing vocal talent of my favorite Broadway star, Idina Menzel... I mean, what is there NOT to love about Frozen with Idina featured in it!!??

So you KNOW I had to play along with a Frozen Elsa image along with the themed "Sentimint" created to accompany these Frozen images... I played with "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman" and used Queen Elsa with TONS of stickles, Frantage, and Flowersoft for the snowy texture...

Please forgive the funky angle, but I HAD to show off all the glitz going on here... I mean, Elsa just demands diamond stickles a plenty... :)

SOOOOOO, since we all know that "Some people are worth melting for", I'm sure that you are wondering how you can snag your very OWN Frozen themed Sassy... Well, don't go "talking to the pictures on the wall... Hang in there Joan" and instead, drop me a comment then hop on over to Kim's blog to check out HER Sassilicious creation! :)

And if you wanna join us in some more "punny" fun tonight, head on over to the Party blog to join us for a live chat at 8 PM EST... You can snag a freebie and hang out with the Designers and Artists who are bringing you this COOOLLLLL hop! :) And thank you for swinging by!!!

Spring is Sprung!!

Hello there bloggers and happy Friday!!! Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the Anything Goes Spring challenge at Creative Moments and I created this lil uplifting paper pieced card using Bubble Gum Sassy for one of my students...

It took very little coloring because of all the paper piecing, and was actually a super simple card to make, but I LOVE using verses on my cards and have GOT to be more proactive about pairing uplifting verses with my Sassy images (sometimes not too easy!) :)

I will be submitting Bubble Gum Sassy to the following challenges:
4 Krafty Girls (Anything Goes)
Fab n Funky (Paper Piecing)

Sassy Studios is also sponsoring the Purples and Blues challenge at Charisma Cardz and the Birthday Challenge at Aud Sentiments, so I played with Bonny of the Nile (Sassy Cleopatra) for this go around...

I colored Bonnie in with copics (Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, R20; Hair: C03, C05, C07, C09, BG10; Dress and jewels: BG000, BG10, BG11, BG13). I added some feathers, lace, ribbon, and bling, and this cutie was my stepmom's birthday card cause she soooo looks like her! :)

I will also be submitting Bonnie to the following challenges:
Creative Knockouts (Anything Goes)
Add a Little Dazzle (Radiant Orchid/Anything Goes)

You shine!

Hi there blogland and happy two days after Easter!! :) People all around me are still talking about their Easter weekend, which is so nice... :)

This week, Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring TWO challenges, one at Just Inspirational (Bingo) and Tuesday Throwdown (Bling).

Here's the bingo card...

I played with the gorgeous Daphne for this one, cause I was totally shocked that I had not inked her up before!!

I colored Daphne in with copics (Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, R20; Hair: E50, E53, E23, E25; Dress: B00, B06, B26), cut her out and highlighted her with a white gel pen. Then I hated the look of the white gel pen, so I tried coloring over it. Thus the weird shadows. :)

I will be submitting this one to the following challenges in addition to the ones I mentioned above...

Doodle Pantry (Digi image)
Words to Scrap by (Shine Bright like a diamond)

Thanks for swinging by and have a great day!

Easter is coming!!

Yesterday was Palm Sunday, and I had to take a moment to reflect on just what that means to me, as a Christian... The fact that Jesus came, knowing what the end result would be, and then entered into Jerusalem knowing that within a week's time he would be suffering the most devastating and painful death, but yet he came still... It blows my mind.

I'm not one to usually make Easter cards, because the beauty of the resurrection is that Jesus is NOT dead... but the true meaning of Easter tends to get overshadowed by the White bunny and chocolate candies and such... And that's just NOT what Easter is about, at least for me.

BUT since I started out this post being philosophical, I ALSO have to stress that I know Jesus had a sense of humor, and he totally loved laughing. SOOOOOO, I do have a card for you this week, and it is an Easter themed one, and it's hilarious, or so I think, lol! :)

This card was made using "Egg Hunt" from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet for the "Bunnies, Chicks, and Eggs" challenge this week at Craft Your Passion.

So even though I will probably not be giving this card as an Easter card, per se, I totally had to get a giggle out of the image and out of the whole concept... I mean, she's adorably cute, isn't she? :)

As a closing thought, I have to wish you all a wonderful holy week. This week, for me, is a time of genuine reflection because my savior came here to a cruel, harsh world in a time when He was not welcomed to save a people who did not want to hear what He had to say. And while he walked the Earth, he showed us that we CAN enjoy God's creation and we CAN laugh and have fun and enjoy one another. Most of all, He showed us that we CAN live a life free of sin because of HIS sacrifice for us. Not a single one of us can be as perfect as He is. But we CAN strive to reflect His example, and we can enjoy our time on this Earth just like He did, with the knowledge that He came JUST so that we could know Him and abide in Him forever...

Thanks for swinging by today, and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Hugs,
Adina

PS, I'll be submitting this HILARIOUS card to the following challenges:
One Stitch at a Time (Use a Digi)
HobbyCutz (Bingo; Ribbon, Stamp, Flowers on the paper)
A Gem of a Challenge (Spring is in the Air)

Show me your stripes! (And Dots!)

Ok, so I'm not good at punny titles... This week's challenge at Inky Impressions is "Dots and Stripes" and I played with Lili Crossing Legs and paper pieced her clothes to keep with the challenge.

I colored Lili in with copics and kept this one relatively CAS compared to my usual style! :)

I will be submitting this lil lady to the following challenges:

A Random Fan (Spring Colors)
Clear it Out (Faux Stitching)
Shopping our Stash (Paper Piecing)

Have a great day!

Fold it!

Hi there! I cannot believe I forgot to announce our new challenge over at Inky Impressions this week!! Wee started yesterday, so you still have plenty of time to "FOLD IT" and submit your project for a chance to win one of Nicole's gorgeous images!!

I played with Nicholas Firefly Frenzy and colored him up with copics... I used a traditional easel format for the card and added a little touch of bling to the banner with Lemon Drop bling!

I will be submitting this lil boy to the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks (Color an image)

Thanks for swinging by and have a great day!

Recycled Thank Yous...

Hello there and happy Thursday!! I can't lie and say this week is NOT dragging... I'm so looking forward to the weekend. :) BUT in the meantime, I'm busy planning for my sister's wedding and shower and all the good stuff involved in that planning... I can't give too many details because my luck would be that she would see this post before the big events, but I DO want to share a quick project I whipped up in preparation for the surprise party!!

My theme is a little obvious if you look at this, but again, I'm not going to give too many details away right now... more to come later! :) I recycled an old Dance Shoe box of my daughter's to hold thank you cards that I made for my sis, as her gift at the shower....

(You can still see the red on the inside of the box, but I am WAY too tired to paint the inner portion too! :)

And this is the MUCH better looking closed version, all tied up and ready to go! :)

This week Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the "Green/Earth Day/Recycle" challenge at C.R.A.F.T, so this box was PERFECTLY timed to save the Earth a little paper waste, and to play along! :) AND this Sassy Cassy Cameo could be YOURS as a giftie from my Sassy Sis Sara, so if you're interested, head on over to her blog to check out her giveaway! :)

Thanks for swinging by today, and have a Sassy, Crafty day!!

Sassy Pageant Queen!

Hello there blogland! Is it Spring YET? My husband is watching the weather channel RIGHT now saying "Really? Get warmer already!" :) I think we are ALL so over the cold days...

I'm finally getting ready to make my seniors their "Palancas" or cards wishing them well on graduation... it's a tradition I know I have posted about in the past, but basically I make each student an individualized card with a personalized note wishing her well as she begins college and everything thereafter. This year has been hard for me, because I honestly have only made a handful of cards, and I'm not sure if it's because I'm lacking mojo or inspiration...

BUT this Sassy Pageant Queen is just so fabulous, and I definitely have some students who will appreciate her, so I colored her up with copics then glitzed her up with stickles, and viola:

Sassy Studio Designs is currently sponsoring the anything goes challenge at Crafting By Designs, so this one will be submitted there as well as the following challenges:

Add a little Dazzle (Anything Goes)
Crafting by Designs (Anything Goes)
Stampavie (Girly)

Thanks so much for swinging by and have a crafty week!
